Basic Vaccines & Preventive Testing for Dogs and Cats

We use the highest quality vaccines for your pet that we would use on our own pets.
Protects against Leptospira bacteria which all dogs are exposed to and can cause life-threatening liver and kidney disease and is zoonotic (transmissible to humans).

Why it matters: Recommended by the AAHA as a “core” vaccine for most dogs, since leptospirosis is widespread and serious. Even urban dogs and suburban dogs are at risk.
$35.01

A core vaccine recommended by AAHA, this combination protects against deadly viral diseases such as distemper and parvovirus.

Why it matters: These viruses cause severe illness—neurologic, respiratory, and gastrointestinal—and are highly contagious and often fatal.
$21.19

Rabies is a fatal viral disease affecting the nervous system and is a major public health concern. Rabies vaccination is legally required for all dogs, cats, and ferrets in Cuyahoga County. Rabies can be passed to humans.

Why it matters: Required by law in most regions (CDC), protects pets and people from a fatal zoonotic disease.
$32.19

We use only the highest quality vaccines that are ultra purified and we would use for our own pets.
Core vaccine per AAFP/AVMA guidelines. Protects against severe upper-respiratory and systemic viral diseases that can be fatal.

Why it matters: Prevents highly contagious and often fatal infections in cats of all ages.
$28.92

As with dogs, rabies vaccination in cats is critical for pet and public safety. We use the ultra-purified PUREVAX Rabies vaccine for cats which is of higher quality.

Why it matters: Even indoor cats can encounter bats or escape outdoors; vaccination protects both your cat and your family.
$32.19

Diagnostics and Screenings

Detects heartworm antigen and antibodies to Lyme disease (Borrelia burgdorferi), Ehrlichia spp., and Anaplasma spp. Broader than a simple heartworm test. More accurate than other brands of heartworm tests.

Why it matters:
Identifies tick-borne diseases like Lyme disease early, when treatment is most effective and before your pet becomes severely ill.

Recommended annually by the American Heartworm Society and CAPC.
$53.75

Detects parasite antigens, not just eggs, for superior accuracy. Many of these parasites can pass to humans, especially children, babies, the elderly, and immune compromised people.

Why it matters: Traditional fecal flotation can miss infections when eggs aren’t shed; antigen testing can detect infections earlier and more reliably. Recommended 1–2× yearly by CAPC.
$56.68

Vaccines for Other Species

Protects against Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus type 2 (RHDV2), a deadly calicivirus that affects both wild and domestic rabbits.

Why it matters:

  • Nearly 90–100% fatal in unvaccinated rabbits.
  • Spreads through contact, insects, or contaminated materials.
  • Recommended by the USDA and AVMA where RHDV2 is present.
  • Provides vital protection for indoor and outdoor rabbits alike.
  • $33.23

Farrowsure® E CV + Lepto Vaccine

Protects pigs against Erysipelas, Colibacillosis, Clostridium perfringens Type C, and Leptospira species.
Why it matters:

  • Helps prevent reproductive failure and systemic illness caused by bacterial infections.
  • Recommended for both pet and production pigs to prevent zoonotic leptospirosis.
  • Backed by AVMA and CDC guidance for small-scale swine health management.
  • $28.92
While not routinely required for domestic pigs, rabies vaccination may be considered where regional exposure to wildlife vectors (raccoons, skunks, bats) exists. Which is definitely true in Ohio and we recommend it.

Why it matters: Protects against a fatal, zoonotic disease
$32.19

Ferret Vaccines

Ferrets are susceptible to the same rabies virus strains as dogs and cats. We use the ferret specific Rabies vaccine which is less reactive.

Why it matters: Protects pets and people; required by law in many jurisdictions (CDC/AVMA).
$33.90

Protects against Canine Distemper Virus, which is nearly always fatal in ferrets. We use the ferret specific Distemper vaccine that is more effective in that species.

Why it matters:

  • Recommended as a core vaccine for all ferrets by AAHA/AVMA.
  • Especially important for ferrets that go outdoors or encounter dogs or other ferrets.
  • $41.60 ~ We do also recommend a dose of Benadryl prior to vaccination. The cost of the Benadryl injection is $27.60.
While not routinely required for domestic pigs, rabies vaccination may be considered where regional exposure to wildlife vectors (raccoons, skunks, bats) exists. Which is definitely true in Ohio and we recommend it.

Why it matters: Protects against a fatal, zoonotic disease
